INTERIM JOINT MATRICULATION EXAMINATION

Every year, hundreds of thousands of students apply and take the UTME, yet only 20% of them are admitted to Nigerian universities. The majority of these applicants who are denied admission reapply in succeeding years, making it harder for students to get into Nigerian universities. Even some UTME candidates who perform well and receive scores of over 200 are ultimately unable to get admission. The worst situation for such candidates is that the UTME result is only good for one (1) year, making it impossible for them to use it the following year.

IJMB, University Diploma, and NAGCE Advanced Level Program, among others, are preferable choices in especially because of this.

IJMB and other Advanced Level programmes last two semesters each. At the conclusion of the two semesters, students are required to write a final exam using a standard syllabus. Successful candidates will enter the University at the 200 level via JAMB Direct Entry. The IJMB, University Diploma, and NAGCE programmes offer all subjects.


Candidates who wish to be considered for admission to the IJMB, University Diploma, and NAGCE programmes must have earned at least 5 Credits in pertinent o'level topics from WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB in no more than two sittings. Candidates awaiting results may also apply to the IJMB and other programmes.

The authorised IJMB curriculum, which covers University 100 level courses and above and must be delivered over the course of two semesters, serves as the basis for all lectures for the IJMB programme.

The Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, the IJMB National Secretariat, and moderators at accredited IJMB associated institutions are in charge of overseeing the entire IJMB examination procedure. Read More
